Skin tags are common soft, harmless growths that often project from the skin. Suitable lesions can be removed following assessment.
Cysts are usually smooth lumps beneath the skin. Pilar cysts commonly occur on the scalp. Suitable cysts can be excised under local anaesthetic.
A lipoma is a soft fatty lump beneath the skin. Small, appropriately located lipomas may be suitable for minor surgical removal after assessment.
Dermatofibromas are firm skin nodules that are commonly found on the limbs. Excision may be considered when clinically appropriate.
These are common benign, often waxy or warty growths that can look as though they are “stuck on” to the skin. Treatment depends on the lesion and its location.
A skin papilloma is a benign, raised growth arising from the surface of the skin. It may have a rough or finger-like appearance and can sometimes resemble a wart. Papillomas can become irritated or catch on clothing depending on their size and location.
Suitable lesions may be considered for removal following clinical assessment. If there is uncertainty about the diagnosis or concern about a lesion's appearance, further assessment and/or histology may be advised.
Where clinically indicated, removed tissue can be sent to a laboratory for histological examination. The need for histology will be discussed as part of your care.
A £25 consultation fee applies per procedure. Suitability and the final treatment plan are confirmed after assessment.

Your lesion is assessed and the available options, expected outcome, risks and alternatives are discussed.
If suitable, the planned minor surgical procedure is carried out using local anaesthetic where appropriate.
You receive wound-care and recovery advice, including when to seek further medical review.
Suture removal is included when required, and histology results are communicated where tissue has been sent for examination.
Yes. The lesion needs to be assessed to establish the likely diagnosis and whether treatment in this setting is appropriate.
Not every procedure requires histology. Where it is clinically indicated, this will be discussed with you.
No. Some lesions, sizes or anatomical sites may need a different treatment or referral pathway.
Yes. Where sutures are used, their removal is included in the procedure price.
